Speak up and win big
The contest period for the kayak trip with Macklemore has now ended. We created a gallery of your fantastic photos here, and want to give our dearest THANK YOU for showing our electeds that the people who live here in Seattle care about a clean and healthy river.
That said, there is still a lot we can and **must** do to keep the momentum going.
If you haven’t visited the Action Page to email and tweet your electeds, please do so, and post the page to your social networks using #riverforall so others can do the same!
Now, without further ado, we’d like to give our congratulations to…
Laura James (also known as Diver Laura)
There’s a lot to be said about this striking photograph. The overarching backdrop, the powerful messages written on her body, the magnificent trash adorned regalia. Yes, that’s right, she partnered up with local trash spotter Neil Chism to create an outfit that was collected from our Duwamish River itself.
As a passionate advocate for clean water, you can read Laura’s own behind the scenes testimony of “Duwamish Thriftshop” and check out the terrific video she put together.
Thanks again to all the wonderful participants, and let us once again emphasize that we can all be winners with a clean Duwamish River that benefits humans, fish, and wildlife
Keep promoting #riverforall, and join our email list to stay informed about the cleanup ahead for the Duwamish River. The EPA will be releasing their final decision by the end of the year, and we need to show them that we’re paying attention.
